Terms

Terms of service

Mossybook Parents is operated by Steven Inge, a sole proprietor in Virginia. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

Updated October 26, 2026

What the service does

Mossybook Parents signs in to the school accounts you connect (PowerSchool, Schoology and ParentSquare) once a day, reads the information a parent can see there, and shows it to you in one app with optional emails and practice sheets. It reads; it does not submit work, change school records or send messages to teachers.

Mossybook Parents is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Henrico County Public Schools, PowerSchool, Schoology or ParentSquare.

Your account and school logins

Accounts are for parents and guardians who are at least 18, and for adults they invite to their family. Connect only school accounts you are allowed to use for your own children. You are responsible for keeping your Mossybook password private and for what happens under your account.

When you connect a school account, you authorize Mossybook Parents to sign in with it on your behalf to read that information. If a school or one of these services asks us to stop, or blocks access, we stop collecting from it and tell you.

Subscription and billing

Your family’s Mossybook subscription includes Mossybook Parents and Mossybook Learn for each child on your plan.

The subscription costs $20 a month for the first child, $10 a month more for the second and $5 a month more for each additional child, in US dollars. Stripe processes payments; Mossybook doesn’t store your card number.

If you subscribe with another family’s share link or code, your family’s first subscription starts with a 30-day free trial. You enter a card when you subscribe, and nothing is charged during the trial. If you cancel before it ends, you aren’t charged. Otherwise the first monthly payment is taken when the trial ends. A family gets one free trial; a later subscription is billed from the start.

Without a share link or code, your subscription is billed from the day you subscribe. If it isn’t for you, email hello@mossybook.com within 14 days of that first payment and we’ll refund it in full, no questions asked.

Each family can share its own link or code. When a family that used it pays its first monthly bill after its free trial, we add a credit equal to one month of your monthly total at that time to your account. There’s no limit. If your subscription isn’t active then, the credit is added when you subscribe again within a year. Credits come off your next bills, have no cash value and end if your account is deleted. A family counts once, and it doesn’t count if any of its children’s school accounts was already connected to another Mossybook family, so a second account for the same children doesn’t earn a credit. We may stop credits that come from misuse.

Your subscription renews automatically each month on the date of your first payment, and your card is charged then, until you cancel. Changing the number of children changes the monthly total. You see and confirm the new total in Stripe first; the difference for the rest of the current month is charged right away, or credited toward your next bills.

A promotion code can make some months free, counted from the day you subscribe, including any trial. You still enter a card at checkout, and the normal price starts when the free months end unless you cancel first. A gift link applies its promotion code for you at checkout, in place of a share link’s free trial.

If we change the price, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next bill, so you can cancel first.

Canceling

You can cancel at any time in the app under More → Subscription → Manage subscription and payment. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you’ve paid for, and you keep access until then. Apart from the 14-day refund described above, we don’t refund partial months, except where the law requires it.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and emails you. Daily checks pause when the subscription is no longer paid; your saved information stays available to you under the privacy notice’s retention rules.

Accuracy and AI

We show where each fact came from and when it was checked. A school service can be down, change its pages or be missing information, and a check can fail or be incomplete; when that happens the app says so. The school’s own systems and teachers remain the official source, so confirm anything important with them.

Some features use AI to read documents, sort messages, answer questions and write practice sheets. AI can make mistakes. Answers link to their sources so you can check them.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Mossybook Parents to access accounts or information you aren’t entitled to, to interfere with the service or a school system, or to resell or share the information outside your family. We may suspend an account that does, and we’ll tell you why.

Limits of responsibility

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Mossybook Parents isn’t responsible for missed assignments, deadlines or events, or for indirect losses, and its total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes, ending and the law

We’ll email you before an important change to these terms takes effect. You can delete your account at any time under More → Delete your account; the privacy notice explains what deletion removes. These terms are governed by the laws of Virginia.
